This Monday marks the start of the 26th edition of Sportel at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The annual meeting of sports and television actors will last four days, culminating in the Sportel Awards on Tuesday evening.
For the 26th year already, sports and television have rendezvoused in the Principality of Monaco to discuss TV rights, new competitions, and the evolution of sports disciplines. It is the reference week (four days) for television professionals and new media. For 96 hours, the sports world gathers at the Grimaldi Forum, from the largest broadcasters to international federations, including sports marketing agencies and event organizers.
It is also an international market for short and medium-term sports rights. Topics will include the upcoming Rio 2016, now less than 10 months away, as well as the Spanish football league (La Liga) with its president.
Finally, Sportel is an opportunity to celebrate the media with the TV Sport Awards and journalists or agencies with the Sportel Awards given to the best works and best advertisements.
The next “made in Sportel” rendezvous will take place, as every year, in Singapore (March 15-17, 2016), for Asian and American rights.
