In Nicolas Sarkozy’s project, there are proposals that shock and that seem like very bad ideas. The measure proposed for 2017 is… the reinstatement of the accumulation of mandates!
This is the old politics that we no longer want to see! It would be the return of fiefdoms, baronies, and exclusivity, and it would close off political life while the French people want to participate!
Not only must the accumulation of mandates be eliminated, but we must also go further:
– by limiting the number of terms over time for deputies and senators,
– by requiring high-ranking civil servants engaged in politics to resign from public service.
This country needs political renewal, and the ideological backtracking, the compromises of all kinds, the constant disconnection from reality by its old decadent leaders are the first of our wounds.
