She had fallen into it when she was little, and quite logically, she is now at the head of the family business at only 38 years old. Sophie Muia is a true-born Niรงoise who has decided to make her expertise and products known on the web.

A business school graduate, Sophie joined the family company Bacchi (a wholesaler in bakery and pastry supplies and equipment) in 1998. In 2010, with her husband, she plunged into the deep end by taking over the reins of the company.

Since 2013, the company has evolved on the web through the site Generation Cooking, which offers a comprehensive range of kitchen, bakery, and pastry equipment. “Professional equipment accessible to individuals,” explains Sophie.

A fine example of success in the Niรงoise way, and we meet Sophie who explains how it all came to beโ€ฆ

Nice Premium: Sophie, introduce us to your Niรงoise company Generation Cooking?

Sophie: Generation Cooking is an online sales site for kitchen equipment and pastry products. The idea is to make professional equipment and products accessible to everyone.

Nice Premium: Is it also in your family genes?

Sophie: Yes, I have been a Niรงoise for three generations, and in our family, culinary traditions are preserved.

So creating a website to promote cooking, pastry, their utensils, and products was an obvious choice for me.

Nice Premium: Why did you choose the web as a showcase and not a traditional store?

Sophie: You have to live with the times. Consumer habits have evolved, and this is only the beginning.

E-commerce offers immense possibilities that traditional commerce does not. Why limit yourself to a city when you can reach the whole world?

Nice Premium: Is it still a project to establish yourself in the real world?

Sophie: Indeed, I have other projects related to my Niรงoise culture. A particular way to showcase the treasures of the County of Nice. But it is still too early to talk about it.

Nice Premium: We often find you at promotional events for Niรงoise cuisine?

Sophie: Absolutely, I make it a point of honor to help and participate in events related to Niรงoise culinary art. Generation Cooking is a partner of “Chef for a Day,” which is experiencing increasing success every year. I also participate in the Nissarde cooking competition of the Cercle de la Capelina d’Or.

Nice Premium: But also figures from local gastronomy?

Sophie: I had the privilege of participating in a cooking class with Michelin-starred chef Christian Plumail, who generously welcomed me to promote Generation Cooking. The renowned pastry chef Pascal Lac counts me among his jury during the best Niรงoise macaron competition.

Nice Premium: Any projects in the kitchen drawers, Sophie?

To open the Generation Cooking site to new countries that are very fond of French gastronomy.

Many chefs in exile in countries from the Gulf to the United States are asking to be able to order on our site, and we will strive to satisfy them.

Nice Premium: If I tell you “house of Niรงoise cuisine”?

Sophie: The idea is excellent! I welcome such a project if it is the case. Anything that can contribute to the influence of Nice, especially through its gastronomy, receives my fullest support. And if I can modestly contribute my support, it will be with pleasure.

Nice Premium: What wish for Generation Cooking and Sophie Muia?

Sophie: For Generation Cooking, much success, and for me, the happiness of sharing my passion with the people I love.
