During the traditional awards evening of the Monegasque association Futurum, H.S.H. Prince Albert II (Honorary President) presented the Futurum Award which, for the first time in its history, honored an institution rather than an artist.
Indeed, the MAXXI Museum in Rome, entirely dedicated to contemporary art, was chosen for its future-oriented concept.
Both aesthetic and functional, the architectural project designed by Zaha Hadid allows for a perfect blend between the proposed collections and the building. Contemporary art and creativity can thus come together and create a virtual bridge between the past and the future, as explained by the president of Futurum, Madame Kawther Al Abood.
In attendance at the evening were representatives of the MAXXI Museum and the association of friends of MAXXI.
H.E. Cristiano Gallo, the Italian ambassador to the Principality of Monaco representing the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed a desire for closer relations between the MAXXI Museum and Monegasque institutions and for cultural exchanges in 2017.
