After having already decided to close the south stand for a match following the use of pyrotechnic devices and the throwing of objects onto the pitch during the Nice-Bordeaux match on August 23, the LFP has just reinforced its decision.
Indeed, following the incidents that disrupted the end of the match between Nice and Bastia (0-1) last Saturday in the Championship, the disciplinary commission of the League (LFP) has, yesterday, announced the provisional closure of the Populaire Sud stand of the Allianz Riviera.
This amounts to an almost partial closed-door situation for the upcoming matches. โGiven the seriousness of the facts, the Commission decides to place the case under investigation,โ added the LFP in its statement.
Jean-Pierre Rivรจre, the President of OGC Nice, is relieved because he could have expected the worst, meaning a total closed-door match, while hoping “that everyone will take their responsibilities in this case.”
