Weekend of fire and joy for the Nice hockey players. After a miraculous victory on Friday night at the Jean-Bouin ice rink with the winning goal in the last seconds against Lyon, one of the Top 4 teams, the Eagles did it again this Sunday late afternoon in Bordeaux, again against a team from the leading quartet.
Stan Sutor’s players opened the scoring in the first period and then scored again in the second before facing Bordeaux’s response, who took the lead (3-2).
It was at the end of the match that the equalizer came, allowing Nice to play overtime. It was finally an incredible goal by Matej Hamrak during extra time that allowed Nice to narrowly win!
A victorious outcome and a leap forward in the standings: Dijon is surpassed and Nice now stands in 10th place with 9 wins and 17 defeats in 26 games.
The championship will pause for a week before the double engagement during the Christmas holidays: Nice will play against Gap on the 23rd and Angers on the 29th.
