The entire Nice society gathered in the Masséna city salons for the awarding of the officer insignia of the Legion of Honor to Mrs. Martin Ouaknine, former president of the CRIF Southeast and municipal, metropolitan, and departmental councilor.
This jurist is one of the close collaborators of Christian Estrosi, who entrusted her with delicate delegations, such as the calls for tender commission and the duty of remembrance, the fight against racism and anti-Semitism.
Furthermore, the mayor of Nice wanted to publicly express his admiration for the recipient: “Because I love Martine Ouaknine, I am particularly happy that this well-deserved distinction is being awarded to her tonight, by a friend of Nice, my friend Nicolas Sarkozy.”
The former President of the Republic, in his speech, did not fail to recall Mrs. Ouaknine’s commitment to defending the convictions and values of her faith and respecting the principles of the Republic’s secularity.
