Founded in 2007, Alpes-Maritimes Fraternitรฉ is a dialogue platform that brings together representatives of monotheistic religions and Buddhists, as well as associations that contribute to communal living in the city. It works for peace, freedom, and respect among people, regardless of their faith.

During the 2019 New Year ceremony, Christian Estrosi mentioned a few significant symbolic events: the signing of the Pact of Fraternity in 2015, the meeting with Pope Francis in Rome following the July 14th attack, the creation of the Wall of the Righteous, and the laying of the first stone of the Wall of Deported People…

Christian Estrosi has always ensured that everyone can practice their religion with dignity and respect for their rites. In this context, he mentioned the creation of a Muslim section, support for the opening of an interfaith center at Pasteur II, and the strengthening of the duty of remembrance so that no one forgets the horrors of the Armenian and Jewish genocides…

Finally, emphasizing that fraternity is an absolute urgency in response to extremism and terrorism, he highlighted the importance of giving new impetus to Alpes-Maritimes Fraternitรฉ to strengthen dialogue and actions; and of involving the youth in this challenge, particularly through the call for projects that will be launched, as part of “Influence Your City,” on fighting discrimination, including those related to religious beliefs.
