It is in the heart of Nice, at the Villa Paradiso, that the NICE au Cœur list unveiled its proposals for the cultural sector.
Lexical subtlety aside, Patrick Allemand has a plethora of ideas to advance this topic in the upcoming mandate:
– The Palais des Expositions must become a temple of culture and nothing else.
– Create a Street Art city in L’Ariane because the neighborhood has spaces, workshops, and talents.
– Develop the potential of exhibitions in the continuity of “Ben fait son cinéma”.
– Transfer the municipal Art school from Villa Thiole to Villa Paradiso.
– Give a new dimension to the International Folklore Festival by involving our diasporas more closely in its implementation.
– Increase aid to theaters by asking theater companies to establish agreements with neighborhood associations.
– Increase funding for cultural activities aimed at those under 18.
– Launch an international photography festival in late October-early November during the All Saints’ holidays to develop cultural tourism during this off-peak period.
Nice au Cœur is also committed to education:
-
Conduct an audit of school equipment and implement a multi-year investment plan to make up for backlogs in certain establishments, coupled with a comprehensive energy renovation plan for all school buildings.
-
Launch the “one schoolyard, one tree” operation with the principle of greening one-third of the playground areas.
-
Develop preschooling from the age of two in Rep+ (Priority Education Networks), which is a key point for combating inequalities at their source.
-
Enhance school medicine to strengthen prevention in Rep+ zones.
-
Open the school canteen to all children.
-
Create a 5-tier scale for the school canteen to better consider income progression.
-
Double the budget for digital equipment in schools to catch up, as the equipment for school teachers is no longer adequate.
-
Conclude an agreement with the National Education to develop environmental education actions, supported by an educational team assisting teachers and facilitators in project implementation.
-
Label our preschools and primary schools as “E3D” (Schools in Global Approach to Sustainable Development).
-
Open schools for free to children from 7:30 am. In Rep+, children dropped off between 7:30 and 7:50 am can have a free breakfast. Animators will be responsible for organizing calm activities.
-
Allow parents to pick up their children until 6:30 pm with a homework assistance program and after-school activities.
-
Create a mobile TOS team to respond to maintenance requests made by school principals within acceptable time frames.
-
Revive end-of-year school fairs to foster social connections.
-
Develop an Educational Success Project (PRE) that will primarily target children in neighborhoods referred to as “politique de la ville” (city policy areas).
-
Establish an observatory on the schooling of children with disabilities and double the resources for the school inclusion of disabled children.
-
Replace municipal police officers assigned to schools with AVS (School Life Assistants).
-
Sign agreements with sports and cultural associations to offer initiations to all schoolchildren in Nice, emphasizing theater practice.
-
Support associations offering homework help in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
-
Promote projects to initiate students to the language and culture of Nice.
