The Canal of the Right Bank of the Var Company has notified its subscribers by mail of an increase in the price of water necessary to carry out work before transferring the infrastructure to the Métropole.

The Nice Côte d’Azur Métropole and the concerned municipalities firmly oppose this unilateral decision which was not submitted for their approval and which they learned about through social media!

They have expressed their discontent in a letter sent today to the Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, in which they remind that the two conditions for the takeover outlined in the resolution no. 27.8 of the Metropolitan Council on November 18, 2016, were: the regularization of the infrastructure’s ownership status and the transfer of the infrastructure in good working condition.

The Nice Côte d’Azur Métropole remains supportive of this transfer but requests it to be postponed to the date when the infrastructure has been effectively renovated.

They particularly ask the Prefect to jointly define a realistic deadline to carry out this transfer and allow the canal company to undertake the necessary compliance work beforehand.
