TaxyMatch, a 100% French start-up, is making its entrance in the metropolitan area and aims to transform urban mobility by offering a taxi ride at a price divided by 3 or 4.
How does TaxyMatch work?
Through a mobile application, TaxyMatch connects passengers who have a similar route and do not have a car.
Passengers who wish to travel at reduced prices indicate their place of departure and destination in the application.
If the desired route already exists, they simply click on it to get in touch with the other passenger. They then agree on a meeting point and order their taxi.
If the route does not exist yet, you can create it and then be contacted in turn.
It is not exactly carpooling but rather “co-taxis.”
Reimbursement between passengers
The partner driver, in this case the Nice taxis, is paid by one passenger. The other passengers reimburse their share to this passenger, either in cash or via the app by credit card.
TaxyMatch does not take a commission from the driver and does not intervene in the driver’s payment.
The connection between passengers to take advantage of the service is free.
A fee of €1 or €2 (for those under/over 25 years old) is deducted from the passenger’s account in case of reimbursement between passengers via the app. Otherwise, the app is completely free.
