The Eagles of Nice fought to the very end against Grenoble but conceded in the dying moments of the match (3-4). Frustrating.
In a Jean-Bouin ice rink heated to a boil, the match started with a bang. The Eagles scored first, but the goal was disallowed. Grenoble took the lead, only for Nice to equalize a few minutes later.
In the second period, Grenoble gained the advantage by scoring a second goal. The final third was much more eventful. After a third goal from the visitors, the Eagles staged a spectacular comeback, scoring two goals in just over a minute of play.
The end of the match was lively and tense, but in the very last moments, Grenoble, with their experience, scored the winning goal.
The season is practically over for the Eagles, who can take pride in having reached the play-offs. There remains one last match tomorrow evening to salvage some pride before closing the book on the 2018-2019 season.
