General strike: the mobilization is expected to be large-scale

A cross-industry strike involving the private sector, schools, and public services is being organized at the call of labor unions CGT, FO, and Solidaires, as well as student and high school associations UNEF and UNL. Transport and education services will be affected.

This general and national strike affects all of France. A strong turnout is expected.

The main demands, which are shared with those of the “yellow vests,” include the increase of wages and minimum social benefits, as well as tackling the inequality between men and women, reforming high schools, and addressing tuition fees for higher education.
