The Southern Region launches an emergency, solidarity, and recovery plan alongside the State to support the territory’s inhabitants through this crisis with substantial and sector-specific budgets.

227.5 million euros to respond immediately to the crisis

_1. The emergency: Healthcare workers and businesses: 124 million euros for the front line_
_2. Economic and social solidarity: “Leaving no one behind”: 103.5 million euros to support all affected sectors_

“Firstly, the first and second lines, meaning healthcare workers and businesses,” details the president of the Southern Region, with, among other things, 12 million euros for healthcare personnel (as well as an order of 4 million certified masks, to be delivered this week), an envelope of 65 million euros for regional businesses, 5 million euros allocated to the agriculture sector, and an amount of 4.5 million euros dedicated to youth, higher education, and research. The cultural sector (35 million euros allocated) and transportation (21 million euros) will also be financially supported in the face of this crisis.

A Recovery Plan for the post-COVID period in the Southern Region: 1.2 billion euros in massive investments

With the goal of recovery following the crisis, an amount of 1.2 billion euros will be invested, including 88 million to support mayors and intercommunalities to amplify the action of communities, as well as 50 million to modernize the public education system in high schools, and 762 million already programmed for the regional transport network.
