Following the call on social media regarding the Yellow Vests’ act 19 planned in Nice this Saturday * and after the chaos in Paris, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, asked Edouard Philippe and Christophe Castaner to ban any gathering within a defined perimeter.
The Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes confirmed that the government will issue a decree prohibiting protests within a perimeter defined by the Minister of the Interior.
Christian Estrosi, emboldened by the ministerial decision, was able to speak out: “I will never accept that Nice becomes the prey of rioters.”
