The headline is thunderous: Nice will become the green city of the Mediterranean!
Last night, before a packed audience of citizens, Christian Estrosi unveiled the greening plan that will transform it.
As the poet said: a dream that becomes reality.
But if we talk about the future, how can we forget the past, especially if it includes the two terms of Christian Estrosi as mayor of Nice?
1 tree planted for every 5 residents
25 hectares of green spaces created
174 parks and gardens
7 community gardens and 100 educational school gardens
and the Green Corridor!!!
By the end of this year, there will be no more diesel buses on the Prom’! With the tramway, the number of bus passages will be reduced from 1,000 per day today to 120 per day, with all being electric buses.
With the arrival of the tramway and the reduction in bus passages, the bus lanes will become a green corridor with secure bike paths separated from the vehicle flow.

From 2019: Permanent development of the South sidewalk with a garden and a new bike path.
In 2021: Redevelopment of the North sidewalk with tree planting and greening, while preserving parking.

2019: Temporary development of the bus lane with exotic and tree-lined vegetation in planters accompanying the marked bike path.
In 2021: Permanent development + Greening of the South sidewalk.

2019: Landscape preview development of the South sidewalk with vegetation and trees in planters accompanied by a bike path.
2021: Permanent development of the South sidewalk + Greening of the North sidewalk without eliminating parking.
Mobility
1,300 bicycle parking spaces will be created on the roads and wide sidewalks, along with secure and adapted bicycle parking for electric bikes: Gare Thiers, Parking Corvรฉsy, Park-and-Ride lots, Saint-Augustin multimodal exchange hub.
Starting in 2019, an additional 12 km of bike paths will be created, and by 2025, there will be 26 km of additional bike paths! This includes the development of Gambetta Boulevard, Avenue Thiers, Carabacel Boulevard, and Marshal Lyautey Avenue.
Nature at the heart of Nice?
New parks and gardens to bring more life will also be delivered. These include the Esplanade de Lattre de Tassigny, the Alsace-Lorraine Garden, the Ray Park, and the Grand Park of the West.
Nice will also be increasingly adorned with flowers, especially in the hills, with colorful planters, hanging baskets, and flower masts, innovative floral structures and canopies, planters, trees planted in schools.
Shared gardens will be designed to meet the expectations of citizens wishing to engage in a return to nature and participative plant production.
