France is approaching the milestone of 15,000 deaths since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, with 14,967 fatalities. The country is in a “high plateau phase,” indicated the Directorate General of Health in a statement on Monday.
There have been 335 more deaths in hospitals in just one day. Additionally, 239 more deaths have been reported in nursing homes and other medical-social establishments. The “balance of ICU admissions” is “negative for the fifth consecutive day with 24 fewer patients,” the DGS further notes.
This Monday, 278 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the Alpes-Maritimes, eight more than yesterday. Seventy-nine other patients are in intensive care.
Since the start of the epidemic, 125 people have succumbed to the virus either in hospitals or nursing homes.
