Several protests are planned across the country, two days after the Constitutional Council’s censorship of Article 3 of the “anti-rioters law.”

Two declared protests are planned in Paris “for fiscal, social, and environmental justice” (editor’s note: no less than that!) and in several provincial cities, including Nice.

Christophe Castaner, who expressed regret on Friday over the Constitutional Council’s censorship of the administrative ban on protesting, stated: “We will maintain a high level of mobilization.”

The Ministry’s strategy to ensure public order is clear: “the right to protest, which is a fundamental freedom, can be exercised freely,” assures the prefecture, but “any gathering that leads to disturbances will be immediately dispersed.”

In Nice, it’s routine: a meeting in the morning at Place Garibaldi for warm-up, then early afternoon at the Thiers station for a walk on Jean Mรฉdecin, with tram service disruptions expected.
