Following the decision of the Town Hall to close off the Cigalusas square to protect the residents from the disturbances caused by a group of young people, opposition municipal councilor Patrick Allemand expressed his complete dissatisfaction with this decision and explained his position as follows:
“We cannot continue to close off areas as soon as some troublemakers or delinquents disrupt a neighborhood. I therefore formally oppose this disproportionate decision that will hinder the movement of local residents, especially as the port’s hinterland is experiencing significant economic development.”
