The Aiglonnes had to fight hard to secure their qualification. Held to a draw in the first leg on the court of Fleury Loiret (25-25), Carmen Martin’s teammates (8 goals) were trailing in front of their home crowd for a good part of their return quarter-final (13-14, HT).
It was only at the end of a completely wild finish that the team from Nice managed to snatch their place in the semi-final, with a final goal by their Spanish scorer (25-24).
