The Port Observatory has just published its 2019 Atlas, a compilation of information on the dynamism of ports in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Since 2015, the Atlas of Port Activities in the Alpes-Maritimes, initiated by the CCI Nice Cรดte d’Azur, has been responsible for documenting and measuring the dynamism of the ports in the region. A barometer, in partnership with the Rรฉgion Sud PACA, the Department, the Metropolis of Nice Cรดte d’Azur, the Cannes Pays de Lรฉrins Agglomeration Community, and Villeneuve Loubet, takes into account various areas such as coastal activities, cruises, yachting, ferries, freight, and ship repair.

There are 38 port sites surveyed on the Cรดte d’Azur, covering 146.5 km of coastline.

Some figuresโ€ฆ

611,000: number of cruise passengers who docked or departed from the Alpes-Maritimes

675,000: number of passengers who departed or arrived by ferry (to/from Corsica and Sardinia)

178,000: number of tons of goods transported in 2018

17,700: number of leisure boats or yachts recorded in the department, including 1,200 over 18 meters in length.

The Atlas also records figures for commercial capacity, boat distribution, maritime transport, and environmental protection of the coastline.
