Less than two weeks before one of the most anticipated events in the city of Imperia and Western Liguria: MercatoRetrò is back from May 17th to 19th.
Autostory and Liguria Classic, which for the second edition of the event have been enhanced by collaboration with Med Yacht Services, have really stirred things up. An example? This year, the event press office, which will welcome all communications professionals, will be set up on a yacht: a Delta 60 Open in which, we are sure, no news will escape.
But the most important innovations are obviously those designed for the public: Calata Anselmi will become the main exhibition space for four and two-wheeled engines for vintage models and the latest innovations. A series of stands related to anniversaries and commemorations will guide you on a journey through time, allowing you to discover and remember events that have made history. During the event, there will be cooking shows, exhibitions, opportunities to try the latest in the field of engines, including a limousine, spaces for children and families, and several parallel events. Moreover, in the old Salso building, there will be a reconstruction of past environments.
There will be three main rallies. The Raid of the Riviera dei Fiori, now in its 8th edition, will take place on May 19th from 10:00 AM for a tour of the hinterland, the 4×4 Raid organized by the Italian register of off-road vehicles and the Maritime Alps club. Starting this year, the protagonists of the Panda raid will also be invited to talk about their “3,000 km adventure aboard an old Panda.” The race took place last March, starting from Madrid to arrive in Marrakech after 7 days, 6 of which were in the Moroccan desert, relying mainly on their own resources. 400 Pandas covered stages of 300/400 km in 7/10 hours, mostly on rough roads.
MercatoRetrò has placed particular emphasis on memories in organizing the event: tangible objects that have made history, such as Fausto Coppi’s car, will also be on offer.
To organize an event linked in time, we meet people who have contributed to writing history, such as Amilcare Ballestrieri, the ultimate expression of Sanremo, first in the field of motorcycling, then in professional rallying, hoping that he can be present. He has been invited to MercatoRetrò along with other important figures from the automotive world.
