The Department has launched the “Our Connected Seniors” initiative!

No matter the age, maintaining social connections is an essential element of our well-being, especially in a crisis context. This is even more true for the elderly in residential care facilities, where everything must be done to ensure that residents retain a social life.

Even as we emerge from the confinement period, great caution is still required because seniors are vulnerable to the virus and must continue to limit their contacts to protect themselves.

While waiting for a true return to normalcy, I wanted to leverage innovation to enhance social and family bonds to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Thus, as part of the departmental plan Solidaritรฉ Seniors Handicap 06, and within the framework of the SMART Deal policy of the Department, this initiative plans to provide 400 digital tablets with 4G to the 158 residential care facilities (EHPAD, PUV, USLD) and 21 independent living residences.

Thanks to these tablets, which are real windows to the world, our elders will be able to share precious moments of life with their loved ones.

A community of solidarity par excellence, the Department will always be at the heart of the lives of the Maralpins, particularly those most vulnerable.

Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department
