The 2nd edition of the “Chasseurs d’Actu” competition took place this Thursday, May 16, in the presence of Éric Ciotti. An important initiative for middle and high school students from the French Riviera.
The competition, which celebrates the media, brought together 14 schools from Nice and nearly 450 middle school students. The concept? During one day, the students take on the role of journalists and, organized in editorial teams, cover as many current topics as possible.
On this occasion, Eric Ciotti awarded the Audacity Prize to the three “intermediate” Hunters from the 8th grade class of Stanislas Middle School in Nice: Germain LATREILLE, Stanislas GOBET, and Stefan PARSAN, for the article “Young People More Responsible Than Their Parents.”
“Congratulations to the organizers and participants of the 2nd edition of an original and educational competition that honors the media and information. The freedom of the press is the source of our democracy. A country is not free if its press is not. It is therefore essential that our young middle and high school students are aware of this. Indeed, I advocate for freedom of conscience, autonomy, and critical thinking, which alone enable the education of minds against the defeat of truth.” Éric Ciotti emphasized.
