Do you devour books like no one else? If you’re a lover of words and literature, the Nice Book Festival is made for you! For its 24th edition, the chosen theme is “Hello Cinema.”


From May 31 to June 2, the Albert 1st Garden opens its doors to books that in turn open their pages to you. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Victorine Studios, “The Odyssey of Cinema” invites you to dive into a unique festival and meet passionate readers and renowned authors. In total, 200 authors have booked their tickets to the French Riviera.

The press conference this Friday, May 16, aimed to present the Nice Baie des Anges Prize in the presence of Christian Estrosi, Franz-Olivier Giesbert, president of the Baie des Anges Prize jury, editorialist at Le Point, Christian Giraud, and Jean-Luc Gagliolo.

The Baie des Anges Prize awarded writer Daniel Picouly for his work Ninety Seconds. Through this novel, the author delves into the terrifying epic of Mount Pelรฉe.

The Nice Festival Rivals Cannes

While all spotlights are on Cannes, the Nice Book Festival still has something to say. Actors, athletes, writers, journalists, publishers… Big names in French literature, celebrities, and politicians will soon set off for the French Riviera.

Spotlight on Nice Publishers

This year, a large space is dedicated to Nice publishers gathered by the Alpes-Cรดte dโ€™Azur Association since 2013. They are committed to promoting the culture, heritage, and talents of the region. The Festival is a perfect opportunity for visitors to be impressed by their authenticity, craftsmanship, the relevance of their choices, and to better understand the links they form with the South and its writers.

The 2019 Book Festival is part of the fight against illiteracy led by the City of Nice.
