The coronavirus has claimed 28 more lives in France over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 29,575 deaths since March 1, announced the French Directorate General of Health on Wednesday. They also reported a continued decrease in the number of hospitalized patients, particularly those in intensive care.
Out of all the deaths, 19,118 occurred in hospitals. The figures for deaths recorded in social and medico-social establishments, primarily nursing homes, will be updated next Tuesday.
The number of people hospitalized due to their coronavirus infection has decreased to 10,267, which is 268 fewer than on Tuesday. Intensive care units were treating 772 COVID-19 patients on Wednesday, 48 fewer than the previous day.
