Located in the commune of Castagniers, the Roguez site, which plays an essential role in the security of drinking water supply for the coast, is equipped with a new state-of-the-art facility: a hydroelectric power plant located above the powerful backup pumping station.
This new facility also allows the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis and its Water Authority, Eau d’Azur, to produce the equivalent of the electricity needs for the drinking water equipment of the City of Nice, and three-quarters of the drinking water service needs at the metropolitan level.
Built in 1986, the Roguez pumping station, now complemented by the hydroelectric plant, secures the water supply for the metropolitan coastline and contributes to the production of renewable energy.
