Coronavirus: 21 deaths in 24 hours, 77 “clusters” under investigation

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 29,752 people have died from Covid-19 in France.

In one week, the organization recorded 4 new deathsโ€”all in the hospitalโ€”in the Alpes-Maritimes.

The toll in the department was 252 victims (187 in the hospital, 65 in nursing homes).


9,141 people are still hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection, and 124 new admissions were recorded in the last 24 hours. The net number of patients remains negative in intensive care units, with a total of 651 patients, 7 fewer than yesterday. Four regions (Ile-de-France, Grand-Est, Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur, Hauts-de-France) account for 74% of hospitalized ICU patients.

Regarding “clusters” (epidemic outbreaks), the DGS reports “276 since May 9, including 5 new ones, with 77 currently under investigation,” as stated by the DGS.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 104,233 people have been hospitalized, including 18,336 in intensive care. 75,351 people have returned home.
