The experimental aesthetic project “Sensibilis” in Cagnes-Sur-Mer

Latest News

Starting this Tuesday, and until June 1st, the “Sensibilis” event is developing an experimental and original approach to the meeting of art and life. It highlights early childhood (starting from 6 months old) and takes place partly at the Chรขteau de Cagnes-Sur-Mer.

What does this strange name/concept Sensibilis conceal? It is about organizing and provoking encounters between artists and families, including early childhood. Various participants will offer immediate poetic creations, exploratory artistic labs, a sensory journey, and free creative spaces. All these activities are moments where the needs of the children are respected.

The initiative brings together professional artists, the teams from the nurseries of Cagnes-Sur-Mer, the Compagnie BE, and other partners. BE is an art and research company that has been working for 10 years on experimentation, reflection, and artistic creation. It questions the role of emotions in the creation process and the effects of art on our society from a very young age in an innovative, alternative, participatory approach with artists, the public, cultural, social, and scientific partners.

The objective is to confront the artist’s vision with that of early childhood professionals, families, and very young children. In an impulse of co-creation, participants will exchange and influence the artistic creation process through language, gestures, and imagination. This immersive experience aimed at parents and children targets each person’s unique sensitivity.

This year, Sensibilis also seeks to engage in sustainable development and is embarking on a zero-waste initiative. Raising awareness about environmental issues will be at the heart of the message conveyed to young children.
