After the success of its first season with 35 young champions in its ranks, the Team Espoirs CDOS 06 program returns this year with athletes who are just as promising. Focus on the innovative project of the Olympic and Sports Departmental Committee of the Alpes-Maritimes!


An Innovative Project

The Team Espoirs is a personalized support program that helps young talents from the Azure coast, aged 17 to 23, who are listed on the national high-level list. The primary goal is to ease their daily lives so they can achieve their sports objectives, while also providing them with increased visibility.

The program provides listening and support to the athletes through actions carried out in four specific areas:

  • communication and media
  • education and university
  • professional development and employment
  • ethics and health-performance-prevention

About CDOS 06

CDOS 06, the network head of the departmental sports movement, is already heavily involved in promoting sports for all, health sports, and the structuring of sports associations, with well-established actions in the 06 department. It has embarked on a new challenge with its focus on high-level sports practice.

The Team Espoirs CDOS 06 program was born on May 23, 2018, during the official launch and presentation of the first cohort to the press.

A Departmental Initiative

This initiative was created under the will of the elected members of CDOS 06 and is led by Jean-Luc Petit, vice-president, and Emilie Fer, president of the CDOS 06 athletes commission. A major player in sports development in the Alpes-Maritimes, CDOS 06 opened the doors of the first Team Espoirs to 35 young athletes in May 2018.

Boosted by its success, the second season of Team Espoirs CDOS 06, will be unveiled during the official presentation evening organized on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 6:30 pm at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nice, in the presence of the president of CDOS 06, Philippe Manassero, the president of the CCI, Jean-Pierre Savarino and all the major sports actors of the Alpes-Maritimes.

From the previous cohort, 20 athletes continue the journey within the Team Espoirs, and they will be joined by 15 new profiles. Among these 35 athletes, 17 disciplines are represented with almost equal gender parity since 16 girls and 19 boys will comprise this new group.
