This Tuesday from 12:15 PM at the Old Port – Albert Édouard Jetty in Cannes, elected officials and personalities from the economy and sports sectors will meet Alexia Barrier, a sailor sponsored by the Alpes-Maritimes Department.
The public present will have the opportunity to visit the boat.
As an ambassador of the GREEN Deal, the ecological transition plan initiated by the Department, Alexia Barrier has equipped her boat with sensors, and her voyages will serve as a working tool over the next three years for researchers, scientists, and students. She also undertakes educational initiatives by creating a pedagogical kit and an application dedicated to raising environmental awareness among children in collaboration with schools, middle schools, and high schools.
After more than 10 years of partnership with skipper Jean-Pierre Dick, sailor Alexia Barrier has taken up the baton to proudly represent the 06 across the seas of the world through a collaboration with the Alpes-Maritimes Department until the 2020 Vendée Globe, known as “The Everest of the Seas.”
