Solidarity, emotion, and sharing of experiences during the San Patrignano Community evening in Monaco

Solidarity, emotion, and sharing experiences, as well as the opportunity to appreciate the local products of the Comunità di San Patrignano, were the highlights that contributed to the success of the first gourmet evening conceived in the Principality of Monaco by Marchioness Maria Ghilla di Canossa last Thursday at the Meridien Beach Plaza.

The dinner, held under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Monaco, in collaboration with the Accademia Italiana della Cucina and under the supervision of the Monaco Italia Hub association, allowed guests to welcome Mrs. Francesca Zanconato Scaroni, vice-president of the San Patrignano Foundation, as well as Piero Prenna, president of the Comunità based in Coriano (near Rimini in Italy); the president of the agricultural cooperative Roberto Bezzi, and Daniel, a young South African who will soon return to his country with a rich experience and training in the art of true Italian pizza, a trade he had the opportunity to learn during his stay at San Patrignano.

“To date, there are 1,300 young people in the San Patrignano community who work in various craft workshops and numerous agri-food sectors, all accompanied by professionals and educators. On one hand, these young people who work become more self-aware and recognize their role in society; on the other hand, they acquire professional training that will allow them to access the job market,” commented Mrs. Scaroni, emphasizing that all proceeds from the Comunità are allocated to self-finance the structure which receives no public funding “because all costs are covered by private contributions, led by the Moratti family.”

“I hope that among the friends and guests present today,” added the Marchioness di Canossa, “a good number of them will visit San Patrignano to witness firsthand how young people are involved in an atmosphere rich in humanity and positivity, which convinced me to share their message by becoming their ambassador, the first one abroad!”

At the end of the meal, the evening was enlivened by a raffle, with prizes made by the workshops of the Comunità di San Patrignano.

The proceeds will soon be offered to the activities of the BESAFE association, whose founding members and President Miss Camille Gottlieb were all present at this lovely evening.
