OGC Nice: the transfer window continues, and it is appealing

Latest News

The transfer market of OGC Nice, already well-stocked with five new recruits including former French international Morgan Schneiderlin, seems to be accelerating even more. The club from the French Riviera could be the surprise team for the upcoming season.

Since the summer of 2019, the wealthiest Briton, Jim Ratcliffe, along with the Ineos group, owns 100% of OGC Nice’s shares. Although ambitions may sometimes disappoint the fans (this year, the top part of the table is a target, not the podium), the summer 2020 transfer market is very active for the “Aiglons”, with five recruits already unveiled and others in the pipeline.

Now, the young Jordan Lotomba, a right-back from the Young Boys of Bern, is reportedly very close to signing with OGC Nice. The 21-year-old, trained at Lausanne, is expected to join the club for a sum of 6.5 million euros.

Rony Lopes and Geoffrey Kondogbia soon to be Nice players?

If this transfer is completed, Nice might turn their attention to FC Seville’s Rony Lopes, who hasn’t established himself at the Andalusian club. The former Monaco player’s profile would interest Patrick Vieira, with a transaction estimated to be around 25 million euros.

To strengthen their midfield, the “Aiglons” would also target the Frenchman Geoffrey Kondogbia. Nice is said to have even made an offer to Valencia CF, which is facing significant financial difficulties. The former RC Lens player would not be indifferent to the Nice project and would look favorably upon a return to Ligue 1. If confirmed, Nice would make a significant impact in the summer transfer market.

On the departures front, Ignatius Ganago has reached an agreement with RC Lens. Over three seasons, the Cameroonian forward has participated in 62 matches (26 as a starter) and scored 7 goals. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Cissé has been loaned for 6 months to Châteauroux to gain more playing time.
