Coronavirus: the spread of the virus is increasing in France, 207 active clusters

The virus is circulating, slowly but it is circulating. The DGS is concerned about the increase in the virus’s spread across the territory and mentions “a rise in the number of calls to SOS doctors, emergency room visits, the number of clusters, and hospitalizations.”

Since Friday, Covid-19 has claimed 25 new victims among hospitalized patients. The balance of the number of patients in intensive care has dropped by 10 over the weekend.

According to official figures, the country still has 207 active clusters, including 9 new ones detected in the last 24 hours, accounting for 0.6% of the total activity, as stated in the report.

The DGS also emphasizes that the mandatory wearing of masks in indoor public places, introduced this Monday, “should not be [considered] independently of other barrier gestures, which are more important than ever” during this summer period.
