Celebration of the Feast of Saint John at the Port of Carras

This celebration, a symbol of the summer solstice, was once organized around a fire to encourage marriages.

Legend has it that young women would rush to the fires of Saint John’s Day because, according to tradition, if they danced around nine bonfires, their weddings would be celebrated within the year.
