The deputy from Alpes-Maritimes, Cédric Roussel, president of the “Sports Economy” study group of the National Assembly, and François Cormier-Bouligeon, president of the “Sport” study group, have presented to Prime Minister Jean Castex 50 measures to revive French Sport.*
At the origin of this evocatively named initiative, “Save the Sport”, there is the necessary economic revival of the sports sector, which has been strongly impacted by the crisis.
However, the initiators’ ambition is to give a central place to sport in our society through the development of school sports, corporate sports, or health sports.
Develop Physical and Sports Education Teaching
21- Increase the number of training hours in physical sports education for future primary school teachers to 60.
22- Establish a consultation among all concerned parties on the place of physical and sports education and physical and sports activity during school, after school, and extracurricular times.
23- Rethink future school sports facilities: open to local associations and integrate sports equipment within the classroom.
24- Increase the budget of the European program “Erasmus + Sport”.
Accelerate the Development of Health Sports
25- Raise the number of Sport-Health Houses to 500 by the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and increase the budget for each to 100,000 euros.
26- Continue the dynamics of reimbursement by Social Security and health insurance companies for physical and sports activities prescribed by a doctor.
27- Open the National Sports Agency to companies funding health sports (insurances and mutual funds).
Accelerate the Development of Corporate Sports
28- Generalize the reimbursement of sports licenses by works councils.
29- Introduce physical and sports activity in enterprises into professional negotiations at the level of the interprofessional national agreement or branch agreements.
30- Exempt social contributions for expenses dedicated to organizing sports events for employees within the company.
31- Include the promotion of sports events in the company within the next occupational health plan (PST 4).
32- Label companies investing in physical and sports activity for their employees.
