Christian Estrosi asks the Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes to issue an order making the wearing of masks mandatory in certain areas of Nice.

During this summer tourist season, Christian Estrosi wants to do everything possible to anticipate a potential return of the Covid-19 epidemic and is calling on the state.

“While the government has already mandated the wearing of masks in enclosed spaces, I have asked the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes to issue a decree starting from Monday, August 3rd at 00:00, making it mandatory to wear masks in public areas, in a number of sectors of Nice that we are currently defining. If the Prefect does not respond to my request, I will issue a municipal decree myself, which would come into effect from Monday, to best protect the population.”
