In the framework of the “Reopen the World” project implemented by the DRAC (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs), the Art Vivace company was invited to come and work to observe the benefits of music and dance on the body and mind.
All this is happening at the Bleu Crรจche. This initiative took place during the week of July 27 to 31. However, Cรฉdric Gonnet, the leader of the troupe, confides that “today (July 30) is a special day.” This session indeed welcomed Anne-Laure Rubi, Deputy Delegate for Family and Early Childhood. Moreover, the children were not in the same working conditions.
A special and diverse audience
Cรฉdric, accompanied by Alizรฉe Benti-Voglio on violin, had to work with children who are at most 3 years old, hence perhaps the choice of nursery rhymes. From “Ah les crocodiles” to “Indians from Malicoco.” The guitarist, with his enthusiasm and passion, manages to engage everyone, including the adults. “Everyone wants to learn the trade of crocodiles and Indians,” he says laughing. He thus wants to demonstrate that musical culture and, more generally, artistic culture can touch all age groups. “Artistic creation is fundamentally benevolent, and this quest for well-being allows people to pass it on to their audience. During this search, the child does the same work as we do. They look for behaviors, conduct many tests, and will keep those most in line with their personality.”
An “health” aspect one might not imagine
It is not easily perceptible to ordinary people. The interest of these exercises is to allow the children to feel soothed, psychologically speaking. “Pure health, I think, is something everyone can feel; it’s the benefit of the energy that music brings, the dream of escape, and what the lyrics can convey.” He indicates that the “health” part of these sessions comes from “the openness to sounds, spaces, words, and new behaviors. It’s like working on a preparation for the development of behaviors, choices, or even tastes. This is important because if it were lacking, then the child would not have the opportunity to thrive and be autonomous.”
