Organized by the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, in partnership with the Departmental Council and the Departmental Directorate for Social Cohesion, the Sports Caravan lives up to its name and will travel for 2 months through the municipalities of Alpes-Maritimes, whether they are small, medium, or large.
A Caravan in “sports and environment” mode
The 2019 campaign will allow the celebration of sports as an effective tool for promotion and mobilization to uphold Olympic values.
This year’s main theme: educate and raise awareness among young people to better understand and protect the environment.
That is why CDOS 06 has set up scientific animation workshops on the theme “sports and environment.”
According to Philippe Manassero, president of CDOS06: “Sports, through the values it conveys and its educational impact, must set the example to follow for human health and the protection of the planet.”
Other important aspects include civic actions with the SDIS 06 firefighters to initiate life-saving gestures, with the BPDJ 06 gendarmerie on addictive behaviors, selective sorting with the French Riviera Agglomeration Community, with educational workshops “Red card to violence,” but also a cultural action with the National Sports Museum through educational games and exhibitions.
