The number of Covid-19 infections continues to increase across the territory. The test positivity rate has risen from 1.5% midweek to 1.7% this Friday.
In its daily update, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) revealed on Friday that 2,288 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, highlighting that “indicators are deteriorating, confirming a more active circulation of the virus across the entire territory, particularly among young adults.” Therefore, the DGS once again stresses the importance of “increasing vigilance” and especially of adhering to “barrier measures” and “common sense actions” (washing hands, wearing a public mask when the one-meter distance cannot be maintained, isolating at the onset of any symptoms, in case of a positive test, and immediately notifying all those you have been in contact with, in case of a positive test).
While 5,011 patients are currently hospitalized for a coronavirus infection, 383 patients are still in intensive care (20 more than in the last 24 hours). Since its onset, the epidemic has caused the death of 30,324 people on French soil, 12 more than the previous day, including 19,818 in hospitals and 10,506 in social and medico-social establishments.
