Christian Estrosi announced at noon today the upcoming opening of two new direct international flight routes from Nice to Guangzhou and Shanghai, two Chinese metropolises.
As a reminder, tomorrow will be the day of the first flight of the direct route between Nice and Beijing.
Clearly, Nice is setting its clock to Chinese time!
This press conference was held notably in the presence of ZENG HUACAN, President of Xiamen Jue Yao Investment, and Jean-Pierre Savarino, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
An exchange that allows for the continued finalization of the 2 new direct routes with China, which could be operational by the end of 2019/beginning of 2020. These routes are Nice – Guangzhou and Nice – Shanghai.
“Major cultural exhibitions, sporting events, and renowned festivals are attracting more and more people. Since 2008, Nice is the city in France that has hosted the largest number of international summits (outside of Paris),” explained Christian Estrosi, who pointed out the increasing trend in the number of events from 669 in 2007 to 1500 in 2018.
“From October 6 to 9, 2019, we will host the Franco-Chinese cultural forum with the theme ‘cultural attractiveness as a driver of innovation,’” also mentioned the mayor of Nice.
This 4th edition of the Franco-Chinese cultural forum could provide opportunities for multisectoral cooperation as well as expanded commercial relations.
The Franco-Chinese cultural forum will serve as a springboard for the 2021 Franco-Chinese cultural year dedicated to cultural tourism. On this occasion, a major exhibition on Chinese culture will take place in Nice.
