Developed by the Federation of General Student Associations (FAGE) in 2011, the project has been territorially supported by the Federation of Student Associations and Corporations of the Alpes-Maritimes since 2012, a project “for students, managed by students,” aimed at providing services and activities to students in precarious situations.
This solidarity grocery store, also a place for exchanges, debates, and associative services, provides access to a variety of high-quality products at 15% of the market price.
Nearly 200 beneficiaries in June 2019, 8.7 tons of food products sold: these figures are striking, especially considering that 33% of AGORAé’s beneficiaries skip at least one meal per week and that in 72% of cases, these omissions are related to their financial situation.
To benefit from food assistance, the student must compile an application file consisting of supporting documents.
Once the file is accepted, the beneficiary student can come to shop and take advantage of the monthly basket (between €10 and €22) granted to them, calculated according to their daily disposable income.
