Mรฉtรฉo France has placed the Alpes-Maritimes on orange alert in anticipation of the passage of Storm Amรฉlie.
More than 12,000 participants will set off this Sunday for the Alpes-Maritimes Marathon between the two major cities of the French Riviera: Nice and Cannes.
It is the second largest marathon in France, after the Paris Marathon. With a very “seaside” route: Nice, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, Antibes, Golfe-Juan, Cannes.
Thousands of registrants come from around the world to run along the coastal beaches.
For this very popular event in the Alpes-Maritimes department, 50,000 spectators are expected.
The staggered start is scheduled from 8 am this Sunday on the Promenade des Anglais at the level of the Albert 1er gardens.
