Proposed by the Ethics Committee of the City of Nice, the conference “Exchanges on Ethical Structures for Local Elected Officials: Current Events and Future Prospects” will highlight the current tools that promote ethical public action and protect against conflicts of interest.
Created in 2014, the Ethics Committee of the City of Nice has an advisory role. Through its opinions, it helps ensure adherence to the ethics that should guide the public actions of each municipal elected official in their duties and in representing the City of Nice within various bodies. Its mission is in particular to prevent any conflict of interest and any breach of the ethical principles guiding public action and to provide recommendations to that effect to the elected officials of the City of Nice.
The conference โ held at the CUM โ will revolve around three panel discussions: “Ethical Structures for Local Elected Officials โ Creation, Organization, Operation, Findings. What Are the Future Prospects?”, “The Implementation of Deontological Tools. How Are They Used, and What Proposals Exist to Strengthen and Develop Them?”, and “Preventing Conflicts of Interest”.
