The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis and the City of Nice officially launched the new European project PROSOL Women last Monday and Tuesday.
The European Union has decided to approve this project, submitted by the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis as the lead partner, aiming to identify the gaps and needs of women in terms of health in rural or mountainous areas, and to address them concretely.
The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis will lead this experimental and cross-border project until 2022, in partnership with the City of Nice, the Nice University Hospital, Provence-Alpes Agglomeration, the Liguria Region, and the Local Health Agency of Turin.
Stakeholders have worked on the initial pathways of this project which will be funded through the European Cross-Border Cooperation Program Interreg Alcotra.
The partners identified that isolation and distance from medical and social structures have an impact on the health of residents, particularly women, affecting their social and professional lives.
The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis will therefore work on concrete actions to promote women’s access to healthcare, notably through the deployment of a telemedicine platform, to raise awareness among healthcare professionals of women’s health and prevention needs, to promote professional recognition of the caregiver status, and to develop a cross-border policy of gender equality in local life.
