For Epiphany 2021, the chocolatier from Nice, Pascal Lac, launches his collection of Galettes des Rois and invites, for this occasion, the artist Stéphane Bolongaro to design five charms featuring his mischievous character Totor.
The year 2021 kicks off in the most delectable way at Maison LAC. After the Christmas logs and vacherins, now it’s time for the Galettes des Rois that will grace the tables throughout January. For the occasion, chocolatier Pascal Lac has crafted five delightful galettes to extend the family celebrations. The collection includes a brioche with raisins and a series of four original frangipane flavors: traditional, chocolate, raspberry pistachio, and the “Miss Tatin” with its caramelized, oven-roasted apples.
Totor, the king of the galette
These creations will delight adults and also children who can, exclusively, discover charms featuring Totor (see photo below), the famous mischievous dog from Nice created by artist Stéphane Bolongaro. For over five years, this amusing character has wandered all around Nice (on the Promenade du Paillon, in front of the Central Station, at the start of the Tour de France, and recently in a dedicated gallery in NICETOILE). For Epiphany 2021, five collectible figures are hidden in the galettes from Maison LAC and will bring joy to those who find them.
“We have already collaborated with several artists for this occasion, notably with Sabine SAB Géraudie who designed charms representing iconic places of Nice. We wanted to renew the experience to continue highlighting our beloved city. Tasting a galette des rois is a moment we love to share with family. This year more than ever, we’ve decided to bring joy to this festival by adding a touch of whimsy to our galettes. The character Totor by Stéphane Bolongaro, with whom we had already collaborated, seemed like an obvious choice.” says Pascal Lac.
The Galettes des Rois are available starting from €15 in various sizes, for two to eight people, throughout January 2021 in the five shops of Maison LAC:
