Tour de France in Nice: the musical notes of the Philharmonic Orchestra accompany the pedal strokes

Latest News

As part of the cultural program for the departure of the 2020 Tour de France, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Opera will give an exceptional free concert conducted by Lionel Bringuier, the “local of the stage,” and accompanied by Renaud Capuรงon on solo violin, this Saturday at the Nice Opera House.

Connecting music to sports, associating a classical music concert with a popular event to also gather around culture, such are the goals of a unifying event like tonight’s concert.

Program for the evening:

Violin Concerto and Orchestra (Opus 61 in D major) by Ludwig Van Beethoven: a piece created in 1806 and considered a love poem in music that the composer allegedly wrote in homage to Countess Thรฉrรจse de Brunswick, with whom he fell madly in love at the time when he was her teacher.

Symphony in A major (Opus 90), known as the Italian, by Felix Mendelssohn: written in 1830 during a long journey the composer made throughout Italy. The colors of this country, the traces of its exceptional civilization, and its art of living are reflected in this work, whose success has never waned over time.
