The Prime Minister, Jean Castex, signed the first regional recovery agreement for 2021-2027 with the president of the Regional Council of the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte dโAzur region, Renaud Muselier. A State-Region commitment amounting to 5.1 billion euros for the recovery, with funding equally shared between the State and the region.
This forward-looking contract tailored to regional specificities will impact multiple themes: natural and agricultural spaces in the city, energy transition and air quality, sustainable mobility, waste management, urban renovation, innovation, tourism, health, heritage, and culture.
The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, was also present, wearing his two hats as deputy president of the Region and president of the Nice Cรดte-dโAzur Metropolis. Both local authorities will fully play their part in the economic recovery with two billion euros for the metropolis and 800 million euros for Nice 06 dedicated to ecological transition, improving the living environment, or supporting businesses.
The Nice MP, Cรฉdric Roussel, praised this forward-looking contract and, through it, the joint financial commitments of the State and the South region for the development and daily life of the people of the Alpes-Maritimes as well as for the modernization of the economy.
One third of this agreement will be implemented in the first two years to support the recovery in the territory. โIt is essential to move quickly by very concretely supporting in our territories the projects that will enable our economy and jobs to get back on the path of growth.โ noted Cรฉdric Roussel.
