The consequences of the Coronavirus impact are still persistent. In total, 19,753 new positive Covid-19 cases and 362 deaths have been recorded in France in 24 hours. A total of 189,834 people have been vaccinated among the priority groups determined by the health authorities. The government hopes to reach 400,000 vaccinated individuals by the end of the week, particularly in nursing homes, where only about 30,000 residents have received the vaccine.
In the PACA region, the number of people tested is increasing: last week, nearly 210,000 were tested. Despite the high number of tests, which is growing again at the start of this week, the positivity rate is higher in the PACA region compared to the national level: 7.5% compared to 6.5%. This increase is seen in all departments except Hautes-Alpes (05) and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (04), where the positivity rate is decreasing but remains quite high. The rate ranges from 6.2% in Bouches-du-Rhรดne to 9.4% in Hautes-Alpes. Alpes-Maritimes is at 9.3%.
The region has 1,113 conventional hospitalizations, including 284 in Alpes-Maritimes. There are 318 patients in intensive care, including 76 in the 06 area, and a total of 3,871 deaths have been recorded in hospitals since the pandemic began, with 677 in the Azurean department.
The number of clusters under investigation by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and Public Health France teams stands at 425. Alpes-Maritimes accounts for 140 of these.
