Following numerous changes to the regulations regarding mask-wearing, which led to various personal interpretations of what should or should not be done and how, the Prefecture has issued a statement that should clarify the situation.
At least, that is the hope given the reluctance of some to follow the rules, especially those that do not personally suit them.
(i) Users of soft modes of transport (bicycle, scooter, skateboard, rollerskates, hoverboard…) on dedicated paths such as bike lanes, roads, trails are not required to wear a mask when they are engaging in a sports activity.
However, they must still have a mask on hand in order to protect themselves immediately in the following situations:
- activities carried out near an area with a high concentration of people,
stopping near an area with a high public concentration.
Joggers are required, like pedestrians, to conduct their activities while masked.
Regarding mask-wearing in vehicles, it is not necessary when the driver is alone or accompanied by one or more household members.
